Suicide is an American duo that was one component of the late 1970s punk scene on the Lower East Side of New York City, USA. They are also considered to be one of the precusors of the no wave movement that started in the mid-70s and went into the mid-80s. The band consists of Alan Vega and Martin Rev, who used farfisa organs, synthesizers, and drum machines to create their trademark sound. While widely unconsidered and largely disliked during their beginnings, their 1977 self-titled album is considered to be one of the most influential albums of the punk movement and has influenced countless others, including The Jesus and Mary Chain and R.E.M. The grander influence of Suicide's electronic primitivism can be heard in the later music movements of synth-pop, electroclash, techno, and industrial music.

Οι Sancho 003 δημιουργήθηκαν την άνοιξη του 2007 από τους Θεσσαλονικείς Φώτη Σιώτα (βιολί, βιόλα, πλήκτρα, φωνή) και Κώστα Παντέλη (ηλεκτρική κιθάρα). Και οι δυο είναι γνωστοί για τις μουσικές τους συνεργασίες (ο Φώτης έχει συνεργαστεί μεταξύ άλλων με Θανάση Παπακωνσταντίνου, Σωκράτη Μάλαμα, Γιάννη Αγγελάκα και ο Κώστας υπήρξε μέλος των Πίσσα & Πούπουλα και έχει συνεργαστεί επίσης με Θανάση Παπακωνσταντίνου και Γιάννη Αγγελάκα), αλλά το project των Sancho 003 είναι εντελώς διαφορετικό από οτιδήποτε έχουν κάνει στο παρελθόν. Το δεύτερο άλμπουμ τους, με τίτλο Muzga, κυκλοφόρησε το 2012 από την Inner Ear.

A superior lineup of contributors helps make Time Between: A Tribute to the Byrds (1989, Imaginary Records UK/Communion Label USA)one of the better homages of its kind. There are two versions of this cd, an eight-song edition that ends with Wild Mountain Time by Nigel and the Crosses, an alias for the duo of Robyn Hitchcock and Peter Buck, and a 19-song disc that ends with Hickory Wind by Richard Thompson, Clive Gregson, and Christine Collister. Everything on either version is worthwhile, especially the psychedelic renditions of Change Is Now and Draft Morning by, respectively, Giant Sand and the Chills, while Dinosaur Jr. adds a crunching Feel a Whole Lot Better. But what makes the 19-song version really cool, however, is the spaced-out It Happens Each Day, a song that only entered the official Byrds cannon when it was discovered in the late '80s, as done by Static (who also contribute a version of Lady Friend); and Thin White Rope's high-wattage, heavy metal rendition of I Knew I'd Want You. Miracle Legion's All the Things is also sublimely beautiful in its lean, rootsy glory, and the Primevals' Tribal Gathering gets a wonderfully eerie, ominous harmonica-and crunchy guitar-and-feedback-laden performance, before Thompson and company regale us with their mandolin-driven Hickory Wind". ~ Bruce Eder and Jason Ankeny

"When something ain't broke around here, we don't fix it," Howe Gelb sings on "AAAA (1)", giving the unofficial slogan for the fictitious Arizona Amp and Alternator, his new, possibly one-off moniker and the concept behind this self-titled album. The prolific Gelb has been doing similar and similarly tossed-off records like this for years, both as a solo artist and with the band Giant Sand. This new project is more conceptual than his usual m.o. and occasionally the mechanic's garage motif seems intrusive, especially on the four "AAAA" songs, which may have something to do with being blue in a red state. Regardless, Arizona Amp and Alternator on the whole captures the pace of a hot afternoon spent lounging in the shade, spouting lawn-chair philosophy over arid desert folk and waiting for the next stranded driver with a stalled automobile". Από το νέο δίσκο της Bjork με τα remix "Bastards", το Crystalline στη version του Omar Souleyman.

Απ' ότι βλέπω στο wikipedia, o Souleyman είναι Σύρος μουσικός (ελπίζω να μην τον έχω βομβαρδίσει!), ο οποίος έχει αναγνωριστεί διεθνώς πλέον. Έχει βγάλει 5 δίσκους, παίζει σε φεστιβάλ και έχει συνεργαστεί και με τους Gorrilaz σε ένα τραγούδι που δεν έχουν βγάλει ακόμα. Το εντυπωσιακό είναι ότι έχουν κυκλοφορήσει 500 περίπου δίσκοι υπό το όνομά του, το 80% των οποίων είναι από μουσική που έπαιζε σε γάμους. Μετά έδινε ένα cd στο ζευγάρι. Πολλά από αυτά αντιγράφονταν και πωλούνταν κανονικά...

Jane Weaver is a long established and self-sufficient singer-songwriter, performer and producer of music from the North of England. Alongside a discography of six self-penned albums she also runs the femme odd-pop imprint Bird Records through Finders Keepers Records. Her latest conceptual folkloric record project, The Fallen By Watch Bird, comprised modern artists alongside latter day legends like Wendy & Bonnie and Susan Christie on tracks that have since been rearranged by Demdike Stare and The Focus Group under the title Watchbird Alluminate. The latest incarnation of this project explores its literary form, presented in the style of a childrens Ladybird book in collaboration with Mancunian filmmakers/illustrators Kluncklick (Yo Gabba Gabba/Bobby Conn).
