Χθες μάθαμε από την Λένια τα άσχημα νέα για τον Ray Bradbury. Έχω περάσει τις πιο όμορφες στιγμές ανακαλύπτοντας το μαγευτικό κόσμο της επιστημονικής φαντασίας. Μετά από προτροπή μιας φίλης ξεκίνησα με 2 βιβλία του Ray Bradbury. «Ο εικονογραφημένος άνθρωπος» και «Τα χρονικά του Άρη» συγκεκριμένα.

Singer-songwriter Jake Holmes wrote and recorded "Dazed and Confused" for his debut solo album "The Above Ground Sound of Jake Holmes", released in June 1967. Like the other tracks on the album, the song does not include any drums. It was recorded entirely with the trio of Holmes on guitar, keyboard and vocals, Ted Irwin on guitar and Rick Randle on bass.
In June 2010, Jake Holmes sued Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page for copyright infringement, claiming to have written and recorded “Dazed and Confused” two years before it appeared on Led Zeppelin's debut album. In court documents Holmes cited a 1967 copyright registration for “Dazed and Confused” which was renewed in 1995. This court case was "dismissed with prejudice" at the request of the plaintiff (Holmes) - presumably because the parties settled out of court - in January 2012.

What first began in 2008 as a one-man-show side project by Nick Whetro under the Icarus Himself moniker has developed into an indie psych-electro-folk trio for 2010. The band's third release by Science Of Sound label, a five-song ep entitled "Mexico", is the follow-up to 2008's "Icarus Himself" ep and 2009's full-length, "Coffins", which found Whetro teaming up with fellow National Beekeepers Society bandmate Karl Christenson. The duo worked together turning their minimalist folk songs into sampler-and-effects-pedals-infused soundscapes garnering them comparisons to Neutral Milk Hotel and David Bowie on acid!!!

Ακούσατε το νέο δίσκο του Iggy με τις διασκευές (Après)? Εγώ άκουσα κάποια και σας βάζω τη διασκευή του Michelle των Beatles... Αυτό μου αρέσει αλλά όταν τραγουδάει γαλλικά με την αμερικάνικη προφορά του... (La vie en rose κλπ π.χ. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyiTXSDo2dc&feature=relmfu) δεν ξέρω... η προφορά του είναι άθλια ενώ η γαλλική γλώσσα (για μένα είναι τόσο ωραία...) αυτό που σώζει τα κομμάτια είναι εεε οι μελωδίες τους και η χροιά της ιδιαίτερης φωνής του Iggy...γιατί; γιατί το έκανε αυτό; (καλό μήνα κιόλας)

The Charlatans were an influential psychedelic rock band that played a role in the development of the San Francisco music scene during the 1960s and are often cited by critics as being the first group to play in the style that became known as the San Francisco Sound. Exhibiting more pronounced jug band, country and blues influences than many bands from the same scene, the Charlatans’ rebellious attitude and distinctive, late 19th century fashions exerted a major influence on the Summer of Love in San Francisco. Their recorded output was small, with their first album, "The Charlatans", not being released until 1969, some years after the band's heyday.

Blacky Ranchette is the alter ego of Howe Gelb, Giant Sand's front man and Band of Blacky Ranchette's wrangler. The first Band of Blacky Ranchette album was released way back in 1983. It was recorded for 400 dollars and was largely a Rainer Ptacek and Howe Gelb notion. The second Blacky record 1986’s "Heartland" was followed three years later by the third, "Sage Advice". These records all predated the "Alt Country" movement by a decade at least.

A Winged Victory For The Sullen is the first installment of the new collaboration between Stars Of The Lid member Adam Wiltzie and L.A. composer Dustin O’Halloran. The duo agreed to develop the recordings with the help of large acoustic spaces, hunting down a selection of 9ft grand pianos that had the ability to deliver extreme sonic low end. Other traditional instrumentation was used including string quartet, French horn, and bassoon, but always juxtaposed is the sound of drifting guitar washed melodies. Notable guest musicians include Icelandic cellist Hildur Gudnadottir, as well as Erased Tapes label comrade Peter Broderick on violin.

Dirty Fuse were formed in 2008 by guitarist Duda Victor and drummer Chris Kogios aiming to explore the frenzied world of surf rock. With the current lineup being: Duda (guitar), Kostas (guitar), Manolis (sax), John (bass) and Chris (drums), their music is based on the old school surf music of the 60's, imbued with the energy of garage and punk rock. Dirty Fuse evolve these sounds with their own unique way and they bring instrumental surf rock to the music scene of today.

Allo Darlin' are many things. They can turn a room in a famous punk venue into a joyous, jumping, sweaty, pop-mosh pit. Or bring a room of 500 to hushed silence with the few strums of a ukulele and a love song about cooking.
Allo Darlin' is the music of Australian-born, London-based songwriter Elizabeth Morris. Originally from a country town in Queensland, Elizabeth moved to London in 2005 and, inspired to write songs by her purchase of a ukulele from the famous Duke of Uke shop in Brick Lane, began to make music. Although Elizabeth has been releasing music under various guises since 2007, it wasn’t until 2009 that Elizabeth hooked up with Paul Rains (guitar), Bill Botting (bass) and Michael Collins (drums) and Allo Darlin’ was properly born.

Οι Roxy Music μεγαλουργούν, παρά την απουσία του ανυπέρβλητου Brian Eno. "Stranded", the third album of the band, was released late 1973, reaching number one on the UK album charts. The cover features Ferry's then girlfriend and 1973 Playmate of the Year, Marilyn Cole. It was the first Roxy Music album on which Bryan Ferry was not the sole songwriter as multi-instrumentalist Andy Mackay and guitarist Phil Manzanera also contributed to the album. Though it was also the first without Brian Eno, who had left the group after "For Your Pleasure", he nonetheless later rated it as Roxy Music's finest record.

In Patrick’s own words, Adventures... is an effort on the band’s part to “make the kind of music we would want to listen to at home.” The album’s title is a nod to this sentiment and to the fact that it was recorded almost entirely in Watson’s apartment in Montreal. In spite of the relatively spartan settings in which to record, Adventures... is equally as ambitious as Watson’s previous efforts and a thing of dynamic beauty. The result is an album that is still ripe with the touchstones one has come to expect from Patrick Watson and his collaborators, but permeated with a greater sense of patience and confidence.
