Louis Thomas Jordan (July 8, 1908 – February 4, 1975)[1] was a pioneering American musician, songwriter and bandleader who enjoyed his greatest popularity from the late 1930s to the early 1950s. Known as "The King of the Jukebox", he became famous as one of the leading practitioners, innovators and popularizers of "jump blues", a swinging, up-tempo, dance-oriented hybrid of jazz, blues and boogie-woogie. He duetted with some of the biggest solo singing stars of his day, including Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.

Richard Hawley is an English guitarist, singer-songwriter and producer. After his first band Treebound Story (formed while he was still at school) broke up, Hawley found success as a member of Britpop band Longpigs in the 1990s. After that group broke up in 2000, he later joined the band Pulp, led by his friend Jarvis Cocker, for a short time. “Standing at the Sky’s Edge” (2012) is his seventh album.

Suicide is an American duo that was one component of the late 1970s punk scene on the Lower East Side of New York City, USA. They are also considered to be one of the precusors of the no wave movement that started in the mid-70s and went into the mid-80s. The band consists of Alan Vega and Martin Rev, who used farfisa organs, synthesizers, and drum machines to create their trademark sound. While widely unconsidered and largely disliked during their beginnings, their 1977 self-titled album is considered to be one of the most influential albums of the punk movement and has influenced countless others, including The Jesus and Mary Chain and R.E.M. The grander influence of Suicide's electronic primitivism can be heard in the later music movements of synth-pop, electroclash, techno, and industrial music.

Οι Sancho 003 δημιουργήθηκαν την άνοιξη του 2007 από τους Θεσσαλονικείς Φώτη Σιώτα (βιολί, βιόλα, πλήκτρα, φωνή) και Κώστα Παντέλη (ηλεκτρική κιθάρα). Και οι δυο είναι γνωστοί για τις μουσικές τους συνεργασίες (ο Φώτης έχει συνεργαστεί μεταξύ άλλων με Θανάση Παπακωνσταντίνου, Σωκράτη Μάλαμα, Γιάννη Αγγελάκα και ο Κώστας υπήρξε μέλος των Πίσσα & Πούπουλα και έχει συνεργαστεί επίσης με Θανάση Παπακωνσταντίνου και Γιάννη Αγγελάκα), αλλά το project των Sancho 003 είναι εντελώς διαφορετικό από οτιδήποτε έχουν κάνει στο παρελθόν. Το δεύτερο άλμπουμ τους, με τίτλο Muzga, κυκλοφόρησε το 2012 από την Inner Ear.

A superior lineup of contributors helps make Time Between: A Tribute to the Byrds (1989, Imaginary Records UK/Communion Label USA)one of the better homages of its kind. There are two versions of this cd, an eight-song edition that ends with Wild Mountain Time by Nigel and the Crosses, an alias for the duo of Robyn Hitchcock and Peter Buck, and a 19-song disc that ends with Hickory Wind by Richard Thompson, Clive Gregson, and Christine Collister. Everything on either version is worthwhile, especially the psychedelic renditions of Change Is Now and Draft Morning by, respectively, Giant Sand and the Chills, while Dinosaur Jr. adds a crunching Feel a Whole Lot Better. But what makes the 19-song version really cool, however, is the spaced-out It Happens Each Day, a song that only entered the official Byrds cannon when it was discovered in the late '80s, as done by Static (who also contribute a version of Lady Friend); and Thin White Rope's high-wattage, heavy metal rendition of I Knew I'd Want You. Miracle Legion's All the Things is also sublimely beautiful in its lean, rootsy glory, and the Primevals' Tribal Gathering gets a wonderfully eerie, ominous harmonica-and crunchy guitar-and-feedback-laden performance, before Thompson and company regale us with their mandolin-driven Hickory Wind". ~ Bruce Eder and Jason Ankeny
