Liz's choice 21.10.2011- (Somewhat) Guilty Pleasure



Not exactly a guilty pleasure, but one I don't always readily share. Although most people who know me find it perfectly ^logical^ that I would like this. William Shatner, of Star Trek fame, covers Pulp's "Common People" (Joe Jackson does the *actual* singing) in his 2004 album Has Been, produced by Ben Folds.
Set to a fanvid with Star Trek clips. Cheezy to be sure but I think it beats just staring at the album cover for 5 minutes.

    @Katerina, if you do like this, check out the rest of album. It's by far his best (musical) endeavor. There are songs on there I listen to more, but none of the others had a star trek fanvid to go with it :)

    @LNE : Μην γράφεις TBR... γιατί μερικοί εδώ μέσα θα νομίζουν ότι είναι συγκρότημα που παίζει στο ίδιο στυλ με τους TBA, τους OST και τους Various Artists!!! (ονόματα δεν λέω :P )

    Εμένα Δημοσσ μου αρέσουν οι Now Hits... έχουν βγάλει γύρω στους 80 δίσκους. Ααααα και οι Best Of! Έχουν πει τραγούδια από όλους τους καλλιτέχνες. Προσοχή στις απομιμήσεις!!! Υπάρχουν και οι Very Best Of... αυτοί δεν είναι καλοί. Λένε τα ίδια τραγούδια με τους Best Of. Πήρα προχθές κι έναν δίσκο των Greatest Hits. Θα σου πω αν μου αρέσουν..

    @LNE I think "In Search of Major Tom" is out in the States, but I heard some of it on youtube the other day and (I'm sorry to say) I don't think it's going to measure up to "Has Been". It boasts a lot of celebrity voices but Ben Fold's production on "Has Been" really made all the difference.

    μπανταρες ολες!! ξεχασες τους "from the vaults" και τους "Hit Parade" α, και τους "The Disco Era"

    οι Greatest Hits παντως απο οσο θυμαμαι εβγαζαν δισκο ανα δεκαετια και τον ονομαζαν ετσι, 50'ς 60'ς κτλ. τους επαιρνε 10 χρονακια αλλα τα κομματια ηταν ενα κι ενα!!!
